Arrival in the Land Down Under

We are here! We landed in Moruya on Thursday Aug 14, after leaving Seattle on Monday Aug 12. It was a 2 hour skip to LAX, a long jaunt to Sydney (crossing the international date line), another 2 hour skip to Merimbula and then a super short hop to Moruya where Scott's Mum was waiting with the car.

I took the picture from just down the hill from the house where Scott's parents live along with his sister and her partner. Currently it is just the four of us as Kristy and Pete are white water rafting guides and away for now.

Our mailing address (although this would be a silly move) is 11 Long Point St, Potato Point, NSW, 2545, Australia

This shire is south of Sydney, and on the coast (note the blue of the inlet above).

We had lots happening the past month and I will attempt to fill you in on that later! We left Matt is his new house in Roseville and spent a few days visiting Casey in Seattle. We have been spending the last several days recuperating (from the jet lag, not the visit with Casey) and figuring out banking, phones and the like. You can't do anything without a phone number but getting that takes some time. We have managed library cards and now have our phone numbers! Still trying to hit the bank when it is open and to arrange things like drivers licenses and health care. It doesn't help the sleep to have to finish up accounts in the US with phone calls vs emails or texts!

I will try to update my photo selection and keep this short and doable. Meantime, here is a blurry photo of an echidna for your enjoyment. It was in the middle of the road but managed to amble away fairly quickly when we stopped for a photo op. It is only the second I have ever seen in the wild. [NB: I didn't create the link for what an echidna is but apparently it might be useful 😉]
