Now we bow our heads

small bird (jacky-winter) looking straight down with head bowed
We (mostly Scott) have been digging up grass and moving dirt around. This has disturbed the insects and worms,  making the birds very happy. This jacky-winter was engrossed with what was happening below. Ditto with this superb fairy wren:

The wrens (particularly this little male) have been getting very bold. In most area we have been, the female fairy wrens are the bold ones but not in this group. The male will hop on the picnic table while we are sitting there and focuses on where Scott sits in case he drops a potato chip again. He does often get to be the subject of my camera practice. due to his posing nearby.

This shot isn't as clear but I do think the blur captures more of their normal behavior!

This thornbill obviously found something yummy

This nankeen kestrel was likely looking for something a bit bigger when flying over the paddock

We also have a new resident- the olive backed oriole is hopefully setting up residence near the creek. Definitely been voicing their thoughts! I think I was spied while trying to get a pic

We have now set up three more garden beds and brought in a truckload of dirt. Getting ready for next season - planning on all sorts of new crops. We also added a cherry tree and a macadamia bush. Who knew you could grow these things! Hopefully we can...
Getting flower seeds and seed potatoes going - greenhouse may be in the near future

We are now both healthier. Scott is off his postop restrictions so we will need to head back to the Narooma pool and Wendy the water witch for more lessons. We are trying to find him a bike bottle so he can go riding and I am mostly off my meds for my musscle pull.I actually slept in the bed last night! It has been a long haul of sleeping in a chair. I don't recommend it but finding my travel neck pillow did help.

Dubya has yet to be ridden and is totally enjoying his twice daily supplement of fat calories. He occasionally does  a bit of a run down the paddock and a buck up the hill. I have a flak vest waiting for me in Bega. We both got new helmets. Scott plans to get on him again soon. Will keep you posted. Hopefully it won't set our health back!

Last week we went into Narooma for routine eye checks. Gradually getting into the system of things here. The rainbow lorikeets were ready and waiting for their photo op.

Company is coming! Scott's sister Brooke and her daughter Daisy are flying into Canberra and then coming to Cobargo. We will meet them in Canberra and find something to do together before driving back separately. I have a doctor appointment there and we will also be hopefully doing a Subaru EV car test drive. They may stay in Canberra for more fun before heading our way. They will be here for a few days before venturing onto other adventures. We haven't seen Daisy since she was a bit younger - here she is with her older cousins at the Taronga zoo. Back in 2015!
