Mary had a little lamb

We have sheep instead. They aren't our sheep but are serving as lawn mowers. They do get around -they must be in great shape as they move up and down the hills all day long.

Their owner has mentioned selling them to this and we might take him up on them. They are dorpers - so have a combination of wool and hair. That means they shed their wool (think about hair falling out on a regular basis). Pretty cool and means lower maintenance.

They like bread. Well, four of the five like bread. I occasionally take out a piece to them to make friends.

Casey has now returned to the USA so I just fed her skink some banana to keep it happy, as well.

The house is still coming along. We now have a living room rug! It helps tie the space together, I think.

We have been working on the hillside behind the shed. It did house several very flammable trees - not a great idea that close to the house. We pulled those out and have been slowly replacing them with succulents and low flammable plants. Those have been shown to redirect fires so worth the effort. But since it is a steep clay hill, it is a lot of effort. Scott put the power auger to work. We need to do more but it is a start.

Lots of weeding and garden cleaning up - a bit too much for my hands and wrist, to be honest! Today I worked on the creek. All the rain has meant the weeds are growing well and it isn't flowing well. Now have about 6 feet cleaned up so it better stays in its bed vs working its way under our road! I didn't take a picture; by the time I get that, I suspect the fast growing weeds will be back in force.

Seeing a few water dragons and a wider variety of birds. The wagtails are coming up closer and we have some brave fairy wrens.

The lewins honey eaters are getting braver, as well!

Meantime, lots of rosellas and magpies, plus loud kookaburras and crows.

These two are usually down by the creek eating the thistles. To each his own!
