And The Green Grass Grew

I had forgotten this children's song but once I saw the start, the lyrics came back. Since the reference may be too old for many of you, it talks about spring and, most importantly, how the prettiest tree has the prettiest nest on the prettiest branch you ever did see.  And the Green Grass Grew all around. Our green grass is visible but only just. We have had very little rain and El Nino may make it a real struggle for green. However, the birds are still joining up and making nests.This little brown thornbill is attempting to wrangle a cobweb into nest material. Sticky business!

We have nesting pairs of a variety of birds. It seems our little scarlet robins found another location and ditto for the satin bowerbirds (at least so far). We definitely have nesting magpies

The others are joined but we haven't found their particular nests yet. Our pair of king parrots is hanging around the backyard

And the juvenile crimson rosellas are spending more time away from the old folks

The fairy wrens have been doing the deed in the cedar tree and in the camellia bushes. Felt awkward taking pictures but the male has been very high on life.

We have taken a break from the farm chores and done a couple of hikes; you will see those pics at a later time. 
Dubya is doing fine -not working terribly hard.

Some more so than others; the ram is also expanding so may get a deworming in the near future 
We have hired a firm to put a sprinkler system on the roof to help with fire mitigation; that should be next week. Heard back from the car dealer - no blue EV until early November.

We got to see large numbers of jellyfish (brackish water), including baby jellyfish

And she stayed afloat!

Currently planning a bigger outing to go fishing in early October.

한우 Hanwoo = best beef ever

  The Korean Hanwoo cows look like beef versions of Jerseys and taste SO GOOD. We got to eat Hanwoo beef several times. The cows cannot be exported so you are not likely to get to eat it unless you come to Korea. You should.  As part of our visit, we got to see the SNU Agricultural space. This herd was in that region. The farm is up in the mountains so the cows get a great view. They do get to see snow, as well! We went to lunch at a restaurant that was the site of some of the famous Korean dramas. These are containers to make soy sauce: This is one of the owners making us bibimpap (a korean rice bowl), supersized: I loved the truck stops on the way there (drive was about 3.5 hours). Major retail center! The bathroom monitor was a work of technological art We spent most of the day at the farm campus and hit major rush hour on the way back. D is for driving, danger and deposit

  We put earnest money down on this property at 184 Barbaroo Rd in Cobargo, New South Wales .  This was after having driven up and down the south coast of New South Wales most of Tuesday. This drive  included a bit of moving in and out of the rolling hills near Brown Mountain. We looked at three properties with a realtor (Hayden did a lovely job) and liked all three and were ready to research the pros/cons of riverfront that is owned by the crown. [Crown lease is a new term for me; property held by the government but you can have full or partial rights to use it, depending.] The property we looked at with the crown lease was gorgeous and had riverfront that was used in the past for a kayaking company. The owners had also invested in "hip camping" sites. We were not in love with that bit. It was also above our comfort level in price and more than we needed. But absolutely gorgeous. We fell in love with the one we saw this morning though. This one is close to Scott's folks ...
