P is also for pelican and playground games
I have too many fun pelican pics to not have a post dedicated to them
They do like their fish. These guys where hanging out with the cormorants and seals, waiting for the fish cleaners to throw some goodies
I promise a blog on Seoul eventually but I have this one ready to go and it has been too long since postings. I finished the site visit on the 21st; got home on the 22nd and we left for our current sit on the 23rd! Prior to leaving we made two trips to the storage unit and found a bunch of Minnesotans (well, 2 more) at a little road side food stand in Nowra. Look it up; Nowra is not that big. One worked at the stand and heard me ordering and one was a patron. Small world!
We are now in Bermagui, just south of where our hopeful house is. The owner of this place has spinal damage that has her in a wheelchair. She is taking her first longer (more than 72 hours) trip away from her service dog, Mieke. Mieke is a doodle. Apparently from a reputable breeder. He is a smart little cookie. And he needs to be with someone most of the time. He has bonded with me and is a little shadow. He now really likes Scott, too, so this is a challenge for him when we aren't in the same space!
They have a pool here and the owner has a chair assist that lets her go in it; however, it is evident she doesn't swim because Mieke had a melt down when I put my face in the water.
We are probably detraining Mieke but he is also having a great time exploring the scrub on her property; places a wheelchair can't go. He has learned to flush out whipbirds and pigeons before I can get the camera trained on them ;(
Now for the playground games (or similar). Pelicans are gorgeous, regal and not either regal or gorgeous at other times. They seem full of personality. Can you tell which of these is not like the others?
Remember seesaws and having a hard time matching weights so that you could actually move?
Wide body jet coming in!
What about simon says or follow the leader?
Apparently they swim together to corner their prey. Not working right now.
Our truck is in the dealership! Getting fitted out. We hope to pick it up this Friday!
Scott ran up to Moruya (just over an hour away) yesterday; today is my turn. Hopefully no trips on Thursday and then the trip Friday to get the truck. Will send pics when available.
More things just came up so wishing you all a happy thanksgiving.
Did you get a new camera or just get that close to the pelican? Crazy... excited to see more house photos when you start to settle in post pet sitting...
