K is for Kanga, Roo and King parrots

big joey sticking out of kangaroo pouch

This time of year, the joeys really don't fit in that pouch but they still try. For some reason, mom doesn't tend to hop away but stands there, looking miserable!

The boys from prior years hang out together, often on the path. You can see the dares in their eyes - who is going to stay the longest?
3 young male kangaroos on path

Love the cocked foot in the near one!
You can also see their footprints - apparently they love hanging out on the beach at night!

We usually see them in the nearby open area during the day

Since this is K, you also get king parrots. These two were in the garden. The chickweed and lemons have been decimated. Wouldn't think they would like lemons but they were good lemons!

Very happy male king parrot

We traveled to Swansea (bordered by two large lakes with close ocean) yesterday. We stayed at a pub and got room 1. It was Saturday night so live music in the restaurant. We saw the band at the nearby table during dinner but returned to our room before they started. However, we could hear all 3 sets in our room that night!

We are now supervising Gus. Instead of a pup, we have a 13 yo mix breed with bad hips. Walks are short affairs! He is hanging out with me but obviously not happy that his mom has gone.

Hope you all are enjoying fall color or other season changes!
